民主・枝野幹事長 「趣旨が正確に伝わってない」 菅首相の消費税引き上げ発言に対する党内の批判に（産経新聞）
民主党の枝野幸男幹事長は１８日午前、菅直人首相が消費税率の１０％への引き上げに言及したことに対し、「超党派で議論をしていこうというのがマニフェスト（政権公約）の文言だ。（１０％を提示した）第２党の自民党の考え方を参考に議論をするのは当たり前のことだ」と強調した。党本部でで記者団に答えた。
首相の消費税引き上げ発言に対しては閣内や党内からも批判の声が上がっており、参院民主党のナンバー２である高嶋良充参院幹事長も「勇み足だ」と批判している。これに対し、枝野氏は「たぶん断片的な報道で、この趣旨が正確に伝わっていない時点での発言だろう」と指摘した。
ただ、首相が発言前に、党執行部と調整していたのかについては、「１０％を参考に、というところまであったかどうか記憶が定かでない」と言葉を濁した。
